Hello there! My name is Millie and I have always desired to be an author one day. That's why I have this: so I can write my own stories and show them to everybody! I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I have enjoyed creating them. It is so fun to create the story's plot and making it come true for the characters. I hope you like the stories I write on this website.
Here is one example of a story I made:
Snails
Snails. Yes, snails. the creatures that eat your vegetables and the creatures that we sometimes eat. The creature that is very much like a slug but with a shell - a shield to protect them from horrible circumstances or, infact, if they are just scared so they shoot inside their shell as quick as a bullet.
Not many people like snails - except from animal lovers which their population is not many - so it was quite unusual that one day somebody said they should sell snails as a nice pet. Not ordinary garden snails you can pick from your patio, though. African snails.
The only things that are different between an african snail and a garden snail is no. 1: they come from different places and no. 2: african snails are much bigger than ordinary snails. That meant not only parents can care and feed for for their pets, the children could get involved too all because of being intrigued of the snails' gigantic size. They could be feeding the snails carrots and cucumber without even thinking how they could've spent their time alternatively.
This was going through Mrs Clay's mind as she handed some money to the jovial shopkeeper. Too happy, actually. “Can you tell me why you've got these snails again?" asked the shopkeeper, sorting through some coins.
"I've got them for my daughter." answered Mrs Clay politely.
"Sorry, lady, we don't do swaps!" shrieked the shopkeeper with laughter, spilling the coins all over the counter. She wiped her eyes before handing the alarmed Mrs Clay some change and two snails in a pet carrier. "Don't let the bugs bite!" screeched the shopkeeper as Mrs Clay was leaving, "HA HA HA!"
Mrs Clay was gaining more and more doubts as she made her way home. And all thanks to the ultra-joyful shopkeeper. What if a bug snuck inside the snails' cage and bit Mrs Clay's very own daughter, Lauren? What would happen if it was a poisonous bite and Lauren had to go to hospital and have to learn to speak sign language and have a wheelchair to move and a guide dog to help her? At one point, Mrs Clay was tempted to return the snails to the pet shop but she stopped the urge instantly as a little girl in a lilac dress threw open the kitchen windows and squealed a delighted squeal. Lauren loved her snails!
Lauren learned to feed her snails carrots and cucumber and to clean their enclosure once a week, and especially loved when she held her snails and showed then to her classmates. Some would be fascinated, other squeamish. Either way, Lauren loved her snails and said so every day to the two of them until something happened. Snail eggs!
Lauren gazed in awe at the baby snails hatching, not regretting her mother bought snails instead of kittens or puppies. She was just as contented that she had a group of equally amazing, slimy snails to care for!
I hope you enjoyed that story. Continue on this website to find more!
